William E. Flagg
Sep. 26, 1933 - Mar. 9, 2020

Our beloved father, William E. Flagg passed away suddenly on Monday March 9th, 2020 at the age of 86. William was the son of the late Merle and Ariel (Pollard) Flagg. He was born in New Albion, NY on September 26th, 1933.

William was never afraid of hard work. He worked at the Ford Stamping Plant for 41 years. William also did plumbing and heating as a second job. He was in the Army for two years during the Korean War reaching the rank of sergeant. He enjoyed reading, playing cards and horseshoes, and spending time with his family. William was a good soul, always willing to help others, and with a smile or a joke at the ready to make it a better day.

He leaves behind daughters Kimberly Flagg of Gowanda NY, and Barbara Winship of South Dayton NY; his much-loved grandchildren Chad, Chase, Courtney, and Carlye,Winship; his son Jeffrey (Debbie) Flagg who lives in Louisiana and grandchildren Todd and Tyrell Flagg. His sister Gloria Guy also survives him. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Beside his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife Rosalie (Parsell) Flagg, his sister Clara Richardson and brother Richard (Fran) Flagg.

How lucky we were to have had a father/grandpa so special that we miss so much? As much as we hate not having you around, we are happy to know you are at peace.

These might be the words our Dad would have uttered about death for he was not ready. “It pains me to admit it, but apparently, I have passed away. Everyone told me it would happen one day but that’s simply not something I wanted to hear, much less experience. Once again I didn’t get things my way!”.

Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners, South Dayton Sunday March 15th 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM.  Where a funeral service will be held Monday at 10AM.

Interment will be held in Jolls Cemetery Perrysberg, NY.
