Thomas C. “Boukie” Buskist, 67, of Gowanda, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

He was born on September 2, 1953 in Gowanda, NY the son of the late Donald and Maxine (Armes) Buskist.

On June 1, 1996 he married the former Linda Ball, who survives.

Thom worked for WNYDDSO for over 30 years, first as an aide, then later as a supervisor. Thom was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and loved being with his friends. He loved to travel with his wife, Linda, and bring his Harley. Thom was a member of the Slovenien Club.

Besides his loving wife of almost 25 years, he is survived by a son, Erik (Emily) Buskist of Hamburg, NY and two stepsons; Jason Johnson of Collins, NY and Nathan Johnson of Brooksville, FL. Also survived by his grandchildren; Brendan, Brooke, and Heather Buskist, and Austin Jackson. as well as his nieces and nephew.

Besides his parents, Thom is predeceased by two sisters; Janet Ludwig, and Melinda Buskist.

Friends may call on Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 4-7 pm at Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main St. in Gowanda.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 11 am from the funeral home.

Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks will be required and limited occupancy observed.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
