Walter Luther Bunn
Apr. 11, 1945 - Feb. 21, 2020

Walter Luther Bunn, 74, of the Gowanda Rehab and Nursing Center, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 in his residence after an 11 year stay.

He was born April 11, 1945 in Jesup, Georgia, the son of the late Walter Curtiss O’Neal and Lana Parot Bunn.

Mr. Bunn was a self- employed contractor in the Buffalo area for many years and became disabled after being struck by a snow plow and the loss of both legs. Walter was an honorably discharged Veteran of the United States Army, serving his country proudly during the Vietnam War Era from February 21, 1963 to November 28, 1968, where he received many commendations for bravery.

There are no known survivors of Mr. Bunn. The VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph, NY, is proud to have the opportunity to make arrangements with the Bath Veterans Cemetery in Bath, NY, where Mr. Bunn will be laid to rest and afforded with full military honors and a graveside service.

Please join us at 4:00 PM this Sunday March 1, 2020 in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph, in honoring Mr. Bunn with a Memorial Service and Veteran’s Honors. Rev. Thomas Broad, Rector of Grace Episcopal Church in Randolph will officiate. Veterans Honor’s will be offered by members of the Randolph American Legion Post and Randolph VFW Post. Mr. Cory Derrenbacher will conclude the honors with the playing of Taps.

A date is being scheduled currently with the National Field Office. Mr. Bunn will have a respectful tribute, family or no family, claimed or unclaimed, we feel it is our honor to see it through, that Mr. Bunn have his day of peaceful solitude. God Bless America.
