Ruth F. Bushnell

Mar. 19, 1953 - Feb. 3, 2020

Ruth F. Bushnell, 89, of Gowanda, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home in Springville. She was born on March 19, 1930 in Buffalo, daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Rouse) Fox. On July 18, 1948 she married Richard Bushnell who predeceased her on December 21, 2019. Mrs. Bushnell worked at her family-owned Fox Motors, in Gowanda for many years. She was a member of the Home Bureau as well as the United Methodist Church in Gowanda, where she had taught Sunday School. Mrs. Bushnell also enjoyed playing cards, reading, and her many fishing trips. She and her husband also had a summer home at Chautauqua Lake.

Mrs. Bushnell is survived by a daughter, Patti (Rusty) Pound of Gowanda, NY and a daughter-in-law, Kate Bushnell of Hamburg, NY as well as four grandchildren; Brian (Sara) Pound, Scott (Tracy) Pound, Daniel Bushnell, and Karen (John) Bushnell-Willet as well as nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and loving husband, she is predeceased by a son, William "Bill" Bushnell.
Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main St. in Gowanda on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 11 am to 1 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 1 pm from the funeral home with Rev. James Rugg, officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Gowanda Memorial Library or the Gowanda United Methodist Church.
