ALLEGANY — The Fredonia Hillbillies (2-0, 1-0 C South) trailed after the first quarter against Allegany-Limestone 3-0, but that deficit was soon forgotten as the Hillbillies heated up to win 26-3 in Class C South football action on Friday night.
The Gators’ only points came off a turnover in Fredonia territory, but things evened out when Owen Rush blocked a punt in the second quarter which set up the Hillbillies first score. Fredonia quarterback Ethan Fry found paydirt on a 2-yard keeper and Sal Tabone’s kick gave the ‘Billies a 7-3 lead.
In the second half, Fry hit Jameson Quinn through the air for a 22-yard touchdown in the third quarter as Fredonia doubled its score, 14-13, after another Tabone PAT.
Quinn and Fry connected again in the fourth quarter on a 43-yard touchdown that sealed the game at 26-3.
