Do you have a unique scarecrow idea?
It's time to start thinking "Scarecrow" again. While Gowanda's annual Harvest Heritage Fall Festival did not take place this year on it's usual weekend (Sept. 21-22), one of it's key events may be making a comeback in October.
After problems at the Gowanda Chamber of Commerce prevented planning for the full Harvest Festival, discussions are underway to save the annual Scarecrow Contest, in one form or another. Currently, an attempt is being made to reschedule the scarecrow related activities for the weekend of October 18-19.
It is hoped that a variety of related activities can be made available in addition to the display of scarecrows made by individuals, businesses and community groups. At this point, it looks like the center of activities will be in the mini park between the Valley Pharmacy and the former Community Bank location.
Please keep checking here, in the column to the right, for updates as they become available. Updates will also be posted on the Community Events Board located in the mini-park.
Links to an online entry form and other resources will also be posted as they become available.
