Ruth E. Lawton

After suffering through a long illness, Ruth E. Lawton died on Feb. 26, 2022, at Heritage Village Rehabilitation Center in Gerry, N.Y. She was born on April 13, 1928, to the late Hav. and Mildred Philbrick.

Ruth was born, raised, and educated in Gowanda, N.Y. She had also lived in the communities of Brocton, N.Y., Fredonia, N.Y., and Cherry Creek, N.Y. She was a loving housewife and mother who tended to her family.

Ruth is survived by her son, Robert Lawton of Brocton, N.Y., and grandson, Byron Lawton of Fredonia, N.Y., and grand daughter, Gina Lawton.

Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Hav. Philbrick; her son, Earl D. Lawton; her daughter, Lois A. Law-ton; and her sister, Pearl Helms.

At Ruth’s request, her funeral service will be private. Interment will be in the Villanova Cemetery in South Dayton, N.Y.

All arrangements have been entrusted to Michael R. Fantauzzi, owner and director of the FANTAUZZI FUNERAL HOME, 82 E. Main St., Fredonia, N.Y.
