Thomas A. Locicero

Thomas A. Locicero age 70 of Dayton, NY passed away quietly at his home on March 28, 2012 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Tom was born on July 12, 1950 in Auburn, NY to Richard and Allie (Bargy) Locicero . Tom was a graduate of Salamanca Central High School Class of 1970. Tom was a member of the Black Knights Drum and Bugle Corp as well as a member of the Salamanca Wrestling Team.
Upon graduation, Tom was drafted into the U.S Army going to Fort Dix for basic training and went to Vietnam and served as a Radioman with the 84th Engineering Company from 1971-72, ultimately receiving an honorable discharge in 1972. After his service to our country, Tom became employed at the Gowanda Psychiatric Center for over 35 years as a therapy aide retiring in 2007.
Tom was very busy during his retirement doing some of the things he loved that included collecting HO Scale Model Trains as well as being a very talented woodworker who liked to make not only replicas of some of the railroad engines he collected but much of his woodworking skills can be seen in multiple residences in Western New York. Tom was also a member of the Cattaraugus Rod and Gun Club, the Railroad Club of Gowanda and the Salamanca American Legion.
Tom will always be remembered for his love of camping, hunting, target shooting, collecting green glass as well as spending time with all of his family. Tom was very much a lover of dogs not only those of his own but those of everyone he knew�-.if Tom had food and your dog was near, they received a treat, often without you ever knowing. It should also be noted that Tom always loved a good fart joke!
Tom is survived by his sons, Bryan Locicero of Collins, Timothy (Brittany and her children Noah and Elisia) Locicero of Gowanda, and David Locicero of Dayton, a granddaughter Elli Locicero of New Albion, his ex-wife Sylvia West and special daughter in law Wendi Locicero of New Albion. A brother, John (Joyce) Locicero of West Valley, Jill (Dennis) Jimerson of Salamanca, Judy Locicero of Salamanca and Joan (Jeff) Sherwood of Salamanca, sister in law Peggy Locicero of Salamanca as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Richard and Allie (Bargy) Locicero, a brother, Richard (Butch) Locicero, paternal grandparents Mildred and John Locicero and Thomas Locicero, maternal grandparents Harry and Catherine Bargy as well as nephew Sgt. John L. Locicero.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. from Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main St. in Gowanda with a service to followed at 1 p.m. from the funeral home. Interment will be at the Crawford Cemetery in Salamanca.
