Eleanora ” Ellie” Andolsek age 87 passed away Friday May 12, 2023 at home surrounded by family and love.
Born at home in North Collins Ellie was the daughter of the late Carl and Dorothy (Geiger) Koch.
It was in North Collins that she met the love of her life Ronald Andolsek. They were married at St. John’s Church in North Collins November 7, 1953 while Ron was home on leave while serving in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge they started their family of four; Cynthia Dishman of Gowanda , Theodore (Sandy) Andolsek of Gowanda , Daniel ( Kathy) Andolsek of Tonawanda and Karen (Mark) Harrison of Pine City. 11 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren also survive along with her siblings: Dorothy Brown of West Seneca, Elizabeth MacDonald of Hamburg, Margaret (Glenn) Simmons of Wyoming , Charles (late Dale) Koch of Gowanda , Fred (Kathy) Koch of Denver Co. and Christopher (Michele) Koch of Virginia along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Ellie was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Ronald L. Andolsek, Ron passed away March 6, 2023) . Siblings ; Carl Koch Jr. ,Patricia (Fred) Sexton, Lawrence(Judy survives) Koch, John (Pat survives) Koch, Edward (Wendy survives) Koch and Cathy Yager.
Eleanora retired from Collins Correctional Facility in March of 1991 as an Administrative Secretary.
Ellie was a devoted wife a loving mother , grandmother and great grandmother. She was a talented seamstress, sewing many clothes and outfits for herself and family , she also enjoyed knitting, quilting and was an avid reader. She loved to paint, her artwork is cherished by her family. Ellie also enjoyed swimming and skiing and her trips with the Collins Center Senior Group her and Ronnie would take.
Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda on Wednesday from 4:00- 7:00pm . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday May 18, 2023 @ 11:00 am from the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church East Main St. Gowanda( please assemble at church) Rev. Innocent Diala Celebrant with interment to follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery Gowanda.
