Ronald L. Andolsek
Jul. 10, 1933 - Mar. 6, 2023

Ronald Lawrence Andolsek age 89 passed away unexpectedly Monday evening March 6, 2023 at the Kenmore Mercy Hospital surrounded by family. Born, July 10, 1933, at the former Townsend Hospital on Chestnut St. in Gowanda the eldest of 3 sons born to Lawrence and Anna ( Nechamer) Andolsek.

Ronald was drafted into the United States Army in 1953, the same year he married Eleanora G. Koch at the former St. John’s RC Church in North Collins. They were married Nov. 7, 1953.

Ronnie worked for the Gowanda Central School District, at the time of his nearly 30 year employment he retired as a maintenance supervisor . Ron retired in 1995.

Survivors include his wife Eleanora of nearly 70 years. their children; Cynthia Dishman of Gowanda, Theodore (Sandra) Andolsek of Gowanda, Daniel (Kathy) Andolsek of Tonawanda and Karen (Mark) Harrison of Pine City, NY along with grandchildren; Justin (Melissa) and Joel (Allison) Malanowski, Jessica (D.J.) Holton and Jacob Waring, Morgan Vacanti (Anthony Laformara), Megan Dishman( Gary Clark), Lauren (Edward) Malber, Joshua, Kaylee, Zachery (Lindsey) and Thomas Andolsek

Chris Harrison, Colleen (Rocco) Strangio and Melissa (Brad) Walker along with 13 great grandchildren . Ronald is also survived by a brother Arnold ( Joann) Andolsek and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents Anna (1997) Lawrence (2000), Ronald was preceded in death by a brother Roger Andolsek (2006) and a son in-law Malcolm Jason Waring (2001).

A member of St. Joseph’s RC Church of Gowanda , Ronald was a 70 plus year member of the Hidi Fire Dept Hose Co #4 joining in 1952 and was an active member of the Gowanda Volunteer Fire Dept Marching Unit . Ron was a life member of the American Legion Post #409, the James Cruden VFW Post 5007 and the Slovenian Club all of Gowanda . Ron was an active member of the Legion/VFW Honor Guard for many years. His hobbies that he enjoyed were skiing, fishing, woodworking and vegetable gardening (until the deer ate all his crop. ) Ron’s smile and mild-mannered personality will be missed by all he knew. He was a devoted and loyal husband that acted as a caregiver for his wife for many years and selflessly gave himself to others. Friends may call from 4-7 pm Friday at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda. A Mass of Christian Burial with full Military Honors will be held Saturday March 11, 2023 at 10 am from the St. Joseph’s RC Church East Main St. Gowanda ( please assemble at church).
