Ducky Derby

The Ducky Derby is an annual contest event using numbered plastic carnival "Duck Pond' ducks. Traditionally, the ducks are raced, usually using the Cattaraugus Creek, from a release point to a finish line somewhere downstream. On occasion, the Ducky Derby has been done more "carnival style" with the ducks being drawn from a small swimming pool serving as the pond. People purchase tickets with numbers corresponding to the numbers on the ducks. By "adopting" one or more ducks in this manner, the individuals can win prizes based on the position ytheir duck(s) finish in the race.
